Job title: Nurse (E Doc Out of Hours Service) Hours of work: Weekday shifts: 17:30 to 22:30, Weekend and Bank holiday shifts: from 9:30 to 16:00 and from 16:00 to 22:30 Place of work: E Doc has 3 clinical centres located at: St. Colmcilles Hospital (OPD) St. Vincents University Hospital (Carew House) St. Michaels Hospital (OPD) Position Type: Permanent Full-Time / Part-Time Purpose of the post: To work as part of an out-of-hours team providing a highly skilled nursing service in accordance with service policy, procedure, and guidelines.
Principal duties and responsibilities: Provide nursing care following the NMBI Code of Professional Conduct and scope of practice framework.
Provide treatment room assessment to the scheduled patient.
Provide face-to-face Nurse Triage and nurse consultation to walk-in patients per E Doc service policy, procedures, and guidelines.
Conduct investigations and treatments per guidelines, e.g., peak flow monitoring, vital signs monitoring, urinalysis, nebulisation, HCG, etc.
Administer medications in alignment with NMBI and the Nurses Act 1985 and by EDOC drug administration policy.
Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team within the service.
Liaise with other medical services, acute hospitals, ambulance services, etc as appropriate.
Promote patient education and health promotion.
Ensure correct documentation of all nursing consultations in patient notes.
Ensure accurate recording of all processes as appropriate within the treatment centre.
Ensure confidentiality of all patient records.
Ensure Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to in accordance with EDOC policy.
Understand and comply with all Edoc written standard operating procedures policies and guidelines.
Record report and review all incidents accidents and near misses as part of our culture of openness and learning.
Check drug quantities, expiry dates, storage, and labelling.
Ordering, controlling, and maintaining the stock of drugs and medical supplies as appropriate.
Ensure all medical equipment is in perfect working order, stored according to manufacturers instructions, and serviced as required.
Any breaks or damages must be reported to the EDOC management team through the CNM.
The nurse must maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current nursing best practices and have a flexible approach to work and have excellent clinical knowledge.
Mandatory training must be completed.
Engage in and demonstrate continuous professional development.
Skills and qualifications: Essential: Registered Nurse with NMBI on the general division At least 3 yearspost registration experience Excellent communication skills Flexible approach to working shifts.
Willingness to work as part of a team and adaptable to change.
