Primark has an updated business strategy called "Primark 2030 – The Next Chapter" with significant financial ambition over the next 6 years coupled with growth across our trading channels. Given the breadth of our business and scale of our transformation, we will organise our Transformation team around three domains:
Channels focus on end-to-end customer journey, engage to sell, to delight and surprise customers with inventive experiences and a power brand.Commercials deliver the full lifecycle of order to receipt/ concept to store and the capability to support Primark growth ambitions.Enterprise teams enable the business to scale operations efficiently while reinforcing Primark DNA through leading colleague experiences and ESG programmes. What You'll Do: In your role, you'll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here's a flavour of your day-to-day:
Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive transformation strategy for the respective domain you are partnered with.Partnering with Transformation Leads to assess, prioritise, sequence and deliver transformation and change roadmap. Develop change pipelines for your area and work with business to deliver.Work in conjunction with strategic planning functions, Portfolio Team, plus functional planning teams (e.g., Technology Portfolio) to advise on impact of multiple projects across the colleagues and business.Provide expert guidance to the project change team on the strategies directive of the project.Review Change strategic plan and associated artefacts to ensure the approach aligns with the business direction and other initiatives.Formally escalate all business Change risks and dependencies to programme management.At times, prepared to be hands-on to deliver the Primark 2030 change related work across the portfolios (e.g., Change Impact Assessment, Training Needs Analysis, Comms, climate and capacity analysis).Working with business stakeholders, create and refine change management strategies aligned to strategic transformation priorities, their communities (i.e., functions in their domain) and business needs.Develop effective resourcing strategies for initiatives ensuring we maintain a flexible, targeted, and cost-effective way of delivering value.Partner with core functional leaders in the Commercials / Channels / Enterprise space, to understand specific challenges, prior learning, change context, climate and capacity to implement, adopt and embed change. What You'll Bring Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:
Deep change & retail experience gained through several complex and varied environments. Global or significant cross border experience is a must. Either working in or with change programmes in FMCG, retail or management consulting for a min of 8 years.Large scale change strategy design, planning, activation working across similar environments - e.g., buying process, Works Councils, translation process, supply chain challenges, localisation needs.To be successful in this role candidates must possess credible understanding of end to end business process in the area they will partner with. For this role, understanding the areas that interact directly and indirectly with our customers is essential. Experience of working within one or more of the functional areas in the domain is a distinct advantage and will ensure that the successful candidate approaches the role already understanding the intricacies and hand-offs from function to the next.For the Change Lead of Commercials, this expertise must include a deep knowledge of at least two of the following business functions: Buying, Merchandising, Design, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality & Sustainability, Ethical Trade.Key business capabilities include: Range & Assortment Planning, Allocation & Replenishment, Warehouse Mgt, End to End Visibility, Network Planning & Optimisation, Product Development & Quality Mgt, Sourcing & Supplier Mgt, Inventory Optimisation.As this is a partnering role, you must be someone that can influence without authority and engage with leaders at all levels of the organisation.Ready?
