Job Title: Chef de Partie Location:Galileo Café Reports to:Sous Chef/Head Chef Department:Kitchen Employment Type:Full-time Job Summary: Galileo Café is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join our vibrant kitchen team.
As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to maintaining the café's reputation for outstanding food.
Key Responsibilities: Section Management: Take charge of a designated section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauté, pastry, etc.
), ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
Prepare and present dishes according to Galileo Cafés standards and specifications.
Food Preparation: Prepare, cook, and plate dishes with precision and care, ensuring timely service and consistent quality.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to manage busy service periods effectively.
Hygiene and Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene, conducting regular checks and adhering to kitchen cleanliness protocols.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels within your section, notifying the Head Chef or Sous Chef when ingredients need replenishing.
Minimize waste by ensuring proper storage and handling of ingredients.
Training and Development: Assist in the training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff, including commis chefs and kitchen assistants.
Share your knowledge and skills to help develop the overall capability of the kitchen team.
Menu Development: Contribute to the development of new dishes and menu items, bringing creative ideas and inspiration to the table.
Stay informed about current food trends to introduce innovative concepts that align with Galileo Café's brand.
Quality Control: Perform regular checks on dishes before they leave the kitchen, ensuring they meet Galileo Cafés quality standards.
Take responsibility for the consistency and excellence of the food prepared in your section.
Communication: Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to meet customer expectations and special requests.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a high-quality kitchen.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
HACCP Certificationis required, with a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work well within a team and provide leadership when necessary.
