Chief Medical Scientist Haematology

Servisource are hiring for a Chief Medical Scientist in Haematology on behalf of our client. Our client is a leading private hospital with facilities around Ireland.

The primary goal of this role is to manage the provision of a high-quality Diagnostic Haematology and Coagulation Service in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager, Clinical Director, Consultant Haematologist, and other staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Prioritizing patient care and ensuring the delivery of a safe and quality-focused service.Collaborating on operational processes in Haematology, aligning them with best practices and hospital goals.Leading and training staff while fostering healthy work relationships.Maintaining and promoting the ISO 15189 quality management system.Engaging in continuing education, research, and open communication.Ensuring adherence to hospital policies, confidentiality, and safety standards.Responding to emergencies and maintaining safety protocols.Supporting research activities and collaborating on the development of policies and procedures.This role may require work outside normal hours and participation in health and safety audits and research activities.Essential Criteria/Qualifications: Must hold a BSc in Medical Science, Biomedical Science or the equivalent.Must hold a MSc in Clinical Laboratory Science, Clinical Chemistry, Biomedical Science or equivalent.Have 7 years full time clinical experience as a medical scientist in a clinical diagnostic laboratory since qualifying as a medical scientist, two years of which were spent in a promotional post.Demonstrate evidence of Continuous Professional Development.Must be registered with CORU.The Chief Medical Scientist is expected to demonstrate initiative and self-organization in fulfilling their responsibilities.
