Details of the offer

Purpose of the Role: Caseload: Children and young people under 16 years of age.
The post holder will focus initially on the following patient groups: children with a life limiting condition from, for example, medical, oncology/haematology, cardiac, surgical services, complex neurodisability and any other child requiring palliative care support.

The post holder will work with the Children's Palliative Care Team at CHI at Crumlin to support the development and delivery of specialist palliative care services across all CHI sites where SPC input is required

The CNM1 in Specialist Palliative Care is a defined area of nursing practice that requires the application of specially focused knowledge and skills, which are both in demand and required to improve the quality of patient care and meet service needs.
The post holder is responsible for providing specialist, evidence based nursing care to children and their families.

Essential Criteria: · Candidates must be registered in the Children's division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)

· Must have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience, of which 1 year post registration full time experience (or an aggregate of 1 years post registration full time experience) must be in the speciality or related area.

· Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

· Candidates must demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
