Main Purpose of the Role The Commercial Marketing Manager will be leading a small team and be at the helm of driving revenue at the racecourse through strategic sales, innovative marketing campaigns and meticulous event planning.
The role is multifaceted, involving the creation and implementation of sales strategies and proactive communication skills across multiple stakeholders and partners that includes some exciting brands while showing energy and commitment to the achievement of our goals.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will take the racecourse to a new level as we continue to build one of Irelands Largest Racing Festivals.
Main Functions Lead a small team to identify and develop new business from existing and new customers through strategic activities, research, face to face calls, networking, proactive campaigns, trade shows and to provide effective account management.
Ability to network and build relationships at a strategic level with our fan base and key stakeholders and have the ability to penetrate large organisations to drive business growth.
Design and implementation of the Marketing Plan for both online and offline marketing initiatives and activities to support the organisations revenue objectives, across all segments.
Track return on investment vs KPIs and amend activity as required to meet objectives.
Continuous strategic improvement to actively identifying gaps, propose, and implement changes and innovative solutions to aid customer retention and acquisition.
Proactively manage the brand's online and offline reputation, to increase brand visibility, engage with our audience, and foster brand loyalty, ensuring brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
Recognise and embrace the importance of Digitalisation and Sustainability as a differential advantage.
Conceptualize, plan and execute customer engagement strategies and to execute engagement initiatives around key events for various customer channels.
Manage the Marketing team, driving individual development, achieving both individual and team goals and targets, and establishing a positive and cohesive team culture.
Manage Marketing expense budget, ensure forecasts are in line with the organisations expectations and parameters.
Keep up with current market trends, competitors, tourism body initiatives and relationships.
Review and amend strategies accordingly in line with evolving market conditions and the organisations future.
Any other duties within your capabilities and as assigned by the CEO.
Person/Experience Substantial experience in business development, marketing, and communications, ideally within the sports & leisure sectors.
Proven success in driving business growth and achieving set targets.
Expertise in client relationship management, especially with high-value clients.
Track record of successful marketing campaigns and communication strategies.
A passion for success in business development roles.
Demonstrable experience of maximising opportunities from researching prospects to generating meetings and securing income.
Experience of working in cross-departmental teams to deliver projects.
Communications Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to establish rapport and collaborate at all levels.
Provide written and verbal information in a clear, concise, and timely way using appropriate methods.
Use influencing and persuading skills to gain commitment and motivate others.
Involve others in decisions about their own area of work and changes which may affect them.
