We believe technology is only as powerful as the people using it to create a better tomorrow: Role Purpose: The Commercial Solicitor ("CS") will be a key member of the Legal Team, reporting directly to the Head of Legal, in providing strategic high quality legal advice and expertise in relation to Vodafone's extensive network infrastructure portfolio.
While the mainstay of this role will be managing the licence arrangements and master services agreements Vodafone has with its third-party network property providers who host our physical network equipment, the role will also encompass supporting Vodafone in relation to property-focused matters pertaining to its office and retail sites as they arise.
The CS will act as legal business partner to the network property team and will act as counsel to the Head of Legal and SLT team on all matters impacting upon Vodafone's physical network infrastructure.
The CS is responsible for the provision of astute, commercial focused legal advice to the business, managing business risk within acceptable levels whilst facilitating the business as much as possible in the execution of its day-to-day affairs.
The CS will provide support on both non-contentious and contentious matters, providing legal advice and expertise across a full range of general commercial and corporate law issues affecting Vodafone and its strategic relationships in IrelandEssence of Role – Key Accountabilities: 1) Network Property Support:a) Drafting, negotiating and completing legal property documentation in respect of Vodafone's extensive network infrastructure portfolio to include commercial licence agreements for network sites; b) Advising on all legal property issues and associated legal and commercial risks relevant to the business including any property related litigation matters; c) Liaising and interfacing with other mobile operators on master service arrangements and co-ordinated network site initiatives.
d) Providing legal property advice on mid to large value contract negotiations;e) Providing commercially-focused legal property advice to the executive team and business managers; f) Managing stamping and registration (where appropriate) of commercial property agreements.
2) Professional / technical impacts: a) Acting as subject matter expert by providing decisive business focused advices on areas of expertiseb) Demonstrating problem solving capability;c) Translating and communicating complex legal concepts and issues into concise, accurate and pragmatic legal advices to all levels and functions across the business;d) Advising on relevant legal and governance related policies;e) Developing/formulating and adapting/amending existing legal policies/processes/ and standards to meet changing business needs whilst still effectively managing risk;f) Demonstrating the aptitude and ability to handle a heavy and varied workload and to prioritise according to delivery of value to the business;g) Managing and liaising with external law firms for specialist legal advice where required3) Commercial Contracts / Corporate Advice: a) Strategic Projects/Commercial Contracts: Provide expert legal support in respect of business-critical projects across all business units in Vodafone.
Examples of such projects include infrastructural network related projects.

b) , framework agreements..c) Intra-Group Arrangements and Corporate: Advising on property matters arising from corporate matters/intra-company arrangements.
d) General Advices: Provide legal advisory support services to all business units within the Vodafone Ireland Group of Companies (including the CEO, members of the executive committee, senior managers, strategy, finance, networks, technology, regulatory, wholesale, supply chain management, human resources, consumer, enterprise, customer care, fraud risk and assuranceWe Are Looking For You, If You Have:Relevant 3rd level degree / qualification in Irish law3/4+ years post qualification experience, preferably to include experience with top/mid tier private practice firm and/or equivalent experience as an in-house solicitor, telecommunications industry experience is an advantage.Property & Commercial contracts experience is required.
IT, telecoms or commercial property experience an advantage.Excellent legal drafting and contractual interpretation skills particularly in relation to all types of (i) property related legal documents (in particular drafting licences for installation of equipment) and (ii) commercial agreements including, heads of terms and master services agreements.
..Strong communication/influencing skills Proven analytical & stakeholder management skillsCommercially astute Experience in a commercial legal role dealing autonomously with complex mattersCompetency / Performance Driver:Self-starter "sole practitioner" mentality, with the ability to work as part of a multi-functional team and manage a significant number of projects without the need for daily supervision.Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to communicate with impact logical analysis, and commercial legal advice to senior audiences using a variety of communication styles.Demonstrate commercial competence and an ability to blend sound commercial / business understanding and acumen with appropriate legal advice.A high degree of responsibility/ownership of own projects and advice.Ability to demonstrate strong personal initiative and as part of a larger team.Efficient time and case management ability essential.Interest in telecommunications and new product innovation is an advantage.
