Communications & Patient Engagement Manager (FTC) Location: Dublin, IrelandDuration: 11 month (mat leave contract) starting November 2024 Competitive salary & excellent company benefits Closing date: Friday 06th September Introduction to Role:Are you passionate about effective communication and patient advocacy? AstraZeneca Ireland is seeking an experienced Communications & Patient Engagement Manager to cover a maternity leave. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within our organization and champion the patient voice.
In this role, you will work with the Head of Corporate Affairs to create and execute key strategic communications plans, encompassing internal, external, and brand communications. You will be responsible for managing multiple stakeholders and championing the patient voice. This role requires a proactive and creative individual with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key responsibilities will include:Delivery of internal, brand and external communications requirements in line with business priorities and communications operational planLeading the planning and implementation of product and therapy area communications strategies and activitiesCreate engaging content for various channels including internal newsletters, press releases, social media, and other communication platformsContribute to the development and delivery of the IEMC strategic communications planProvide advice and counsel to internal stakeholders to maximise the impact of communications priorities to support commercial agenda and reputation both internally and externallyBuild and maintain strategic and sustainable relationships with patient advocacy groups (PAGs) and other stakeholders to support their relevant objectives and initiativesProvide strategic counsel where appropriate to senior leadership teamEnsure compliance of all AZ Governance Framework elements and act in accordance with the IPHA Code of PracticeEssential Skills/Experience:At least 7 years' experience working in communications; for a large corporate or public sector, preferably in healthcareDegree level or equivalent qualification in communications or a related disciplineExcellent stakeholder management, influencing skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholdersManagement of PR agencies and other external vendorsExperience of social media channels and engagementStrong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlinesExcellent skills in communication, encompassing the ability to develop strategic plans, as well as exceptional written and verbal communication abilitiesDeep understanding of the Irish healthcare sectorCan effectively delegate and handle 3rd parties to deliver outputsAbility to motivate and lead in a multi-disciplinary, complex businessExperience of working with Irish mediaWhy AstraZenecaAt AstraZeneca, we are on a journey to bring life-saving medicines to patients.
