Credit Control Specialist

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Credit Controller within a new Air & Ocean Freight Forwarding Division.
The successful candidate will join the Finance & Controlling team and report directly to the Lead Credit Controller for the EMEA region.
This role offers a dynamic work environment and the chance to contribute to the growth and development of the team.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Credit Controller with excellent telephone communication skills and a background in managing high volumes of customer accounts.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to build positive relationships with both customers and stakeholders are key qualities sought for this position.
Location: Dublin, Hybrid Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Contract: Permanent Key Responsibilities: Conduct daily collection calls to follow up on unpaid accounts and outstanding balances.
Record daily collections activities and maintain detailed documentation.
Assess account risk and manage credit limits accordingly.
Create and maintain comprehensive credit history files for clients.
Review and assess new customer accounts, setting appropriate credit terms and limits.
Utilize external credit risk management tools to evaluate the creditworthiness of customers.
Investigate and resolve billing disputes or discrepancies.
Perform reconciliations of accounts and payments.
Respond to credit inquiries from both internal teams and external clients.
Identify potential bad debts or financial risks.
Ensure timely payments are received from customers and address any payment delays.
Collaborate with local Operations teams and shared service centres to resolve customer queries.
Review remittance advice for accurate allocation of customer receipts.
Generate weekly aging reports and present findings to management.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all tasks.
What We Are Looking For: Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a Credit Control role, with a strong operational focus.
Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable Skills: Experience with SAP or Oracle systems is an advantage, though not essential.
Previous experience in the Freight Forwarding sector is a plus.
