Responsibilities:Ensure Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) technical compliance on all Business Unit projects.Assist in developing Design Delivery Schedules/Programmes along with the Client, Project Manager, Design team, and consultants.Coach/mentor junior engineers on projects.Attend design-related meetings and provide continual input to optimize design and minimize futile work.Procure the design from a consultant design partner from initial tender enquiry to appointment.Liaise with the consultants responsible for the design on projects.Liaise with third parties such as Clients, insurance companies, consultants, vendors, architects, etc.Review the completed design to ensure it is accurate and precise.Manage registers throughout the project design period:Procurement scheduleTechnical submittal registerDrawing registerRFI logDeviation trackerLessons learned logIssues logInterface and scope gap trackerDesign change control trackerMonitor all engineering schedules and trackers throughout the course of each project.Manage technical submittals & drawing approvals to ensure all is approved for procurement/installation.Develop comprehensive scope-of-work and contract document deliverables list for each related discipline.Negotiate scope-of-work, deliverables, and price with consulting firms.Assist with technical workload on the projects.Assist the project teams with better buying – review all orders technically and ensure the best price is obtained.Assist the Project Manager in tracking internal and external design changes and cost issues.Manage distribution and production of project workload within the project team and design consultant team.Collaborate on new design issues/changes and research projects with the team.Review programme on each project, ensuring design, submittal approval, and procurement align with programme requirements.Plan, program, and report on project prioritization of design, assignment, and management to designers.Lead with effective supervision an experienced design team to ensure delivery on schedule.Track design deliverables to ensure project milestones are met and implement recovery strategy if slippage is detected.Participate in departmental strategic planning.Assist technically as needed with the Business Unit.Manage CSA design document control and track design deliverables to ensure project milestones are met.Challenge consultants and Mercury teams to value engineer.Audit the project documentation structure at regular intervals as requested by the Engineering manager.Assist project teams to set up O&M manual index and trackers early in the project.Produce reports for the projects and issue them to the Engineering Manager as required.Assist with tenders for new projects, such as reviewing documentation, assisting the Estimating Department, etc.Attend site when requested.Produce deliverables such as plant replacement schedules/lift and shift schedules.Develop comprehensive scope-of-work and contract document deliverables list for each related CSA discipline.Assist with Value Engineering (VE) log for the DC&BS group.Set up design trackers across each project, ensuring all follow the same processes.Review Project Responsibility matrices and Design RACI matrices for alignment with project scope.Coordinate design management strategies on DCBS projects.Support the CE team regarding completion of Cx design related drawings, schematics, etc.Engage in the recruitment process for engineers at all levels, from Graduates to Lead Engineers.Manage the Mercury People Platform (MPP) including setting goals, compensation review, ratings, maintaining the organisation chart, approving leave, etc.Ensure Engineering SOPs are robust, current, implemented & in use on projects.Engage with planning and construction in producing programmes/schedules, advising on design phased elements and material lead times.Advise planning on impacts from change management, issues, material delays, and technical issues.Engage in development of off-site workshops & assemblies and sub-contractor schedules to ensure engineering input is captured.Oversee BIM involvement for engineering aspects and ensure timely management of BIM queries/enquiries.Ensure final handover requirements are considered in all engineering steps from submittal to installation acceptance.Ensure all safety requirements are met and continuously reiterate the importance to engineering and site teams.Engage with Offsite Site Assembly (OSA) and Offsite Site Manufacturing (OSM) to align engineering requirements prior to commencing, monitor during construction, and meet handover requirements.Perform all other tasks related to the engineering role as requested by the Engineering Manager.Perform all other duties associated with this role and/or reasonably required by the Company.Minimum Requirements:Third level qualification in Design Engineering with a focus on Civil/Structural/Architectural design works.Experience working as a CSA Design Engineer on data centres/large scale plant projects.BIM 360 experience.Strong interpersonal and organisational
