Position DescriptionIn ESB's new Brighter Future Strategy there is a key focus on ESB becoming a more data driven company. The successful candidate will operate as a core member of the Analytics team in ESB Customer Solutions and work closely with our customer facing business units, to identify critical business problems, understand the data requirements and help to translate them into robust technical solutions. They will gain a deep understanding and knowledge of customer data across all business units and be able to analyse, identify and create solutions using this data.
The role will also require the applicant to gain a knowledge of data warehousing and data lakes using technologies like SAP Business Warehouse, Hadoop, Azure Data Lake and SQL Server.
Key ResponsibilitiesData analysis, working with the wider analytics and IT teams to gather relevant information and build data pipelines.Creating meaningful visualizations, working with key stakeholders in the business to determine analytical requirements and design solutions to inform decision making such as:Trend analysisPredictive analyticsInsights and analysis into large datasetsWork closely with key stakeholders across the business including Electric Ireland, Smart Energy Services, Telecoms and ESB E-cars.Work across functional areas such as Operations, Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Customer Service, Finance and Pricing to determine requirements, design solutions and develop business metrics / reporting solutions.Implement data quality controls and checks on all solutions.Support self-serve reporting for various business units by identifying data sources and coaching business users on how best to access and analyze it.Respond rapidly to business needs by providing ad-hoc analysis, support, and recommendations.Data modelling for large scale customer behavior models, campaigns, analysis etc.Agile product delivery, working as part of a team collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.Experience and QualificationsA minimum of 3 years relevant experience.A third level qualification in Computer Science / Statistics / Maths / Data Analytics or equivalent work experience.Experience in designing and developing data visualisations through Power BI, Tableau or Qlik.Experience using SQL.Experience in managing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets.A proven track record in working with data to solve business problems with a good understanding of Analytics Tools, databases, and their capabilities.Excellent communication, organisation and reporting skills.A problem solver, a logical thinker in gathering and analysing data.Be a self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative.Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to collate and present results in a concise, creative, and professional manner.Postgraduate in Data Science / Data Analytics / Maths / Computer Science or similar.Experience in Data Science algorithms and methods.Experience in SAP BO / BW / 4/Hana.Experience using R, SPSS, Python, Power Shell.Familiarity with Azure DevOps.LocationThis position will be based in Hybrid - Remote / Swift Square Santry.
