As a Data Center Facility Manager in Amazon Web Services, you will manage the world's largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure. We encounter interesting, challenging & complex problems every day, being a technical facility manager in Amazon means that you can innovate to solve these issues and help drive Operations Excellence in all areas of your role. As a people manager, you will actively hire and develop your team of data center experts and technicians. We are currently looking for a Facility Manager in the Berkshire / West London area.
Key job responsibilitiesEnsuring we adhere to and exceed Health & Safety standards in all our Data CentersManaging and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.Maintaining existing operational Amazon Data Centers to the highest level of AvailabilityHelping to build and bring online new Amazon Data CentersConstantly improving all our processes and procedures, we believe there is nothing we cannot improveAssisting and managing relationships with external vendors and contractorsLiaising with internal teams and management groupsCreating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilizing those metrics to drive positive changesAssisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSAn excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical Data Centre Operations including systems such as feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switch gear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, Air Handling unitsProven track record of people management and developing teams and in particular ensuring staff are ready for any conditions through skill and process developmentAbility to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader contextExperience working in data centers or another mission-critical environment (e.g. Data Centers, Hospitals, Power plants, military facilities, etc.)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAdvanced electrical or mechanical qualification (Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline is also acceptable)Full EU/ UK driving license.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
