Design Manager Echelon Data Centres was established in 2017 by the main principal of Aldgate Developments, a leading commercial property developer and owner of major commercial office buildings in Central London and Dublin. The objective was developing, operating, and owning a network of large-scale, responsibly designed, sustainably powered data centre campuses across the world to meet the rapidly expanding global demand for hyperscale data processing and storage solutions. Since then, the Echelon Group has expanded to ownership of six sites across Ireland and the United Kingdom and has secured >€1bn of funding to develop sites, giving the Group an enterprise value of c€2.5bn. The Group's second campus will go live imminently.
Located in Sandyford, Dublin, Echelon Data Centres is now seeking a Design Manager to join the team. The Design Manager role provides an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing Irish company and will report to the Director of Design.
Duties:Key point of contact between customer and design teamStructured delivery of design in line with the project execution plan, including programme, budget and quality parametersAdvocate and implement safety in designEnsure customer requirements are defined, agreed and effectively implemented in designCreate and maintain a design programme, tracking progress and meeting milestonesLead design change control and value engineeringDrive quality standards and compliance with code and basis of designReview and approve design deliverables to ensure they meet the project requirementsEngage project stakeholders, including multi-discipline design teams, contractors, operations and regulatory bodiesConsult and coordinate with environmental, commercial, procurement, construction and operations teams through the design processAdvising on technical design matters, problem solving and proposing solutionsProactively identify, mitigate and manage design issues and risksEffective communication and reportingEnsure BIM modelling is completed in accordance with the BIM Execution PlanMaintain thorough documentation of design actions, RFIs, assumptions, decisions, and changesRequirements:At least 5-8 years proven experience leading cross-discipline design teamsExperience of successfully delivering design on large, complex projects would be beneficial.
