Job Title : Despatch and Logistics Manager Reporting to : Head of Operations Location : County Monaghan Contact: Conor O ' Hagan Our client, a well-established food manufacturer based in County Monaghan, is seeking an experienced Despatch and Logistics Manager.
This is a key role responsible for overseeing the efficient movement of goods from production to delivery, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and on-time distribution.
Key Responsibilities Manage the despatch and logistics operations, coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
Ensure efficient and timely shipment of goods, meeting set KPIs and schedules.
Oversee the local fleet, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety regulations.
Monitor stock levels and resolve any issues to prevent delays in order fulfilment.
Ensure all outgoing orders meet required quality standards and paperwork is accurate.
Optimise transport arrangements to ensure cost-efficiency and timely deliveries.
Collaborate cross-functionally to address operational challenges and improve processes.
Manage team performance, coaching and developing staff to meet objectives and deliver continuous improvement.
Fleet Management Oversee vehicle maintenance, insurance, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Coordinate vehicle cover during maintenance and handle fuel card management.
Represent the company during RSA inspections and manage related documentation.
The Person: It is anticipated that the successful candidate will come from a similar background and will be looking for the next challenge in their career.
Self-starting and motivated, applicants will also need to satisfy the following: 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within FMCG, managing a team.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Comprehensive knowledge of logistics regulations and industry standards (BRC, Bord Bia).
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
