St. Margarets Network is recruiting a Person Support Coordinatorin the greater Dublin area, to support the delivery of individualised person support services. The Role: The Discovery Coordinator is a central support for the individual using the service, helping them to develop their confidence to express their will and preference, and exercise their rights and choices in relation to all aspects of their life and lifestyle. Working closely with the individual and developing a relationship of trust is fundamental to getting to know what is meaningful for them; their hopes, dreams and aspirations and to explore their talents and abilities. The Discovery Coordinator develops strategies with the individual to focus on their choices and assists them to consider how they would like to live their life now and in the future. The Discovery Coordinator guides the individual through a process of discovery and supports them to know and understand their right to make decisions and be in control of their life. This includes developing and implementing their plans for their life to the extent they desire. The ideal candidate: Has experience working with people who have experienced devaluation in their life. Experience and evidence of building relationships and supporting people to make choices that have positively impacted them in their life. Evidence of bringing fun and joy into their ways of working & supporting individuals. The ability to actively sustain engagement with a person, developing roles and activities and building and maintaining relationships. A sound knowledge of UNCRPD, the Assisted Decision-Making Act, and the HSE National Consent Policy. A good knowledge of Social Role Valorisation (SRV) / Supported Self-Directed Living (SSDL) A high capacity for working autonomously. Well-developed time management skills. Excellent organisational skills and ability to work on their own initiative. High level of spoken & written English. High levels of IT literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Hold a full clean drivers licence. The successful candidate will be required to attend intensive SSDL training. Qualifications: A third-level education in social care or related fields.
