The purpose of the post is to manage the provision of a social work service within a multidisciplinary context and in so doing, ensuring a person centred service to individuals and families.

Mental Health Services in CHO DNCC are provided to a population of 679,597 (2022 census).
A strategic goal for Mental Health Services is to promote the Mental Health of our population in collaboration with other services and agencies, including reducing the loss of life by suicide.
All Mental Health services are informed by a person-centred and recovery approach, with comprehensive national policy (Sharing the Vison 2020-2030 A Mental Health Policy for everyone) and strategy in place to inform continued developments and enhancement.
The focus is towards the delivery of care, assessment and treatment at the least complex level and as close as possible to the patient's home and their Community Healthcare Network (CHN).
St. Josephs Intellectual Disability Service provides support for adult service users with varying levels of intellectual disability.
The service provides a range of residential care, outreach and specialist services for adults in the DNCC catchment area.
Services are provided within a multi-disciplinary environment consisting of health and social care professionals, nursing, consultants in learning disability psychiatry and healthcare staff.
The Community Support MHID Team in Swords provides services and supports to service users living in the catchment area.
Residential services are provided in St. Ita's Campus and in a range of supported living environments in the community.
St Joseph's Mental Health Intellectual Disability Services (SJMHIDS) is currently regulated by the Mental Health Commission.
