Dncc2024075 Social Worker, Senior Medical (Sassy) Oibrí Sóisialta Sinsearach Míochaine (Sassy)

To provide a specialist social work service to this multidisciplinary team to aid the assessment and treatment of young people, who are at high risk because of their drug / alcohol use.
This will involve supporting Tiers I and II and SASSY team members in identifying such vulnerable young people in their area, in assessing and meeting their social needs, and in ensuring that adequate social supports and services are developed to optimise care.

To assess child protection and welfare concerns, and to ensure that the proper child protection policies are adhered to, in accordance with statutory responsibilities.

To offer harm reduction information and education to young drug users, their families and community members.

To provide a social work link from the SASSY team to local social work, medical, psychiatric and community services, with a special focus on the psychosocial aspects of care for the most marginalised who are at risk due to drug use.

SASSY (Substance Abuse Service Specific to Youth) is a community service providing support to young people under 18 years of age, SASSY services are readily available to young people and their families where they live.
We operate clinics throughout Dublin North City and County.
Sassy provides risk reduction and support to young people for whom drug or alcohol use or process addictions are having a significant negative impact on their daily lives.
