Arcadis DPS Group has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, passionate, and ambitious individual to work as Lead Process Design Engineer in our Advanced Technology Group's (ATG) Global Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM) Process Department, based out of our European ATG Group Headquarters. Arcadis DPS are affiliated with Engineers Ireland and support Continuous Performance Development.
Position Summary: This challenging position involves managing the Electrical LV scope, working as part of a multi-discipline highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and other state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. We design some of the most complex and specialized facilities being constructed today. Projects for our clients include feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills. They will exhibit a passion and desire to apply their professional experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and professionally rewarding projects. Our team is seeking a person who understands the importance of meeting their targeted commitments while being flexible to the ever-changing and fast-paced environment of our clients' sites.
This is not a remote position and will require the selected individual to live local and in commutable distance to the AZ office and client site. Relocation within the United States may be available for selected candidates.
Key Responsibilities: Be the Global Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) for the ATG group, leading and controlling the design for I&C systems. Manage the I&C department comprised of engineering leads and designers including all performance reviews. Develop continuous improvement and training specific to the disciplines within the department. Direct the performance of engineering tasks by other discipline team members for the design of Semi-conductor, LV and general electrical systems, systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities, datacentres and institutional facilities. Write scope of work for I&C design based on preliminary review, User requirement Specifications (URS's) and client meetings. Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems. Identify and research future Semiconductor and datacentre industry trends. Keep on top of technology and industry developments. Assist in the development of group's systems, procedures, standards and knowledge management. Prepare and participate in project proposals, man-hour estimating and client presentations. Support Business Development through client engagement at senior levels. Take responsible charge of the LV design, including technical accuracy, completeness, and quality of electrical construction documents. Be responsible for upfront site selection and due diligence activities. Exercise judgment in developing plans or alternatives and work with teams to assure quality plans. Perform field activities such as observation of construction activities. Review construction submittals for conformance with the intent of contract and design documents. Provide guidance and mentoring to project LV engineers and designers on a project-by-project basis. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. Develop system sequences of operation and line diagrams. Skills & Experience Required: Third level degree in a relevant Electrical Engineering discipline. 7+ years of relevant experience with several years as design discipline lead with preferable knowledge of systems integrations within a semiconductor/high technology environment. Ideally having experience in: Semi-conductor MV/ LV and general electrical systems, data centre/mission critical facility or manufacturing project experience. Ability to provide load calculation, size and specify switchgear, switchboard and panel board, and motors. Experience with Easy power/SKM Power tools software. ATEX Experience. Experience in application of National Rules for Electrical Installations (ET101) and applicable local building/specialty codes. Leadership skills, with a view to managing people. Other: Travel: level of travel e.g. 0% travel, 0 – 20% travel, 20 – 50% travel. Working hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday. Any other requirements.
