The Engineering Manager is a leadership role accountable for the successful architecture, design, delivery and operational support of the enterprise software.
You will work closely with the Engineering, Product and other stakeholders to ensure software requirements, delivery timelines and risk factors are managed.
You will implement a culture of Continuous Improvement within the Engineering function.
What you'll do:Lead multiple Scrum teams to deliver new product featuresWork alongside Leadership to build a culture of Continuous Improvement within the Product Engineering teamLead architecture discussions for key product areasEnsure the SDLC is well defined and adhered toImplement new technologies that will support the product and infrastructure evolutionLead Engineers in mentoring and training, including work on complex technical problemsDefine and track key metrics that are well understood by the team in order to support agile delivery and quality improvementsHiring new staff by identifying key gaps in the teams and proactively identifying candidates for the roles, including defining the interview process to suit the roleWho you are:Demonstrate 5+ years of team leadership experienceDemonstrable experience of at least 8+ years in Java programmingUnderstanding of high transaction enterprise system developmentStrong knowledge of Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot and HibernateMessaging pattern experience (Kafka, ActiveMQ)Knowledge of database design principles, complex joins, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics and isolation levelsSolid experience in Automated Testing spanning unit, integration and functional testingStrong Agile Project Management tooling experience (JIRA e.g.
