A leading meat processor in Ireland, recognized for supplying premium products to supermarket, foodservice, and restaurant sectors, is seeking an Environmental Manager. As a key player in the industry, the company operates in 15 countries, employs over 7,000 staff, and exports its products worldwide. The Environmental Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily environmental operations and spearheading various sustainability initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsuring full compliance with the site's EPA license and managing all related communications with external bodies.Overseeing the operation, performance, cost management, reporting, and resourcing of the onsite Effluent Treatment Plant.Leading the site's energy and resource team to achieve targets for energy, water, and carbon reduction through measurement, analysis, and reporting.Collecting and formatting data on effluent, energy, water, waste, and sustainability measures to develop KPIs for reporting.Maintaining and improving the site's ISO50001 Energy Management and ISO14001 Environmental Management systems.Conducting site energy and environmental audits to identify improvement opportunities and enhance climate change resilience.Coordinating waste management practices on site in alignment with group goals.Collaborating with the wider group environmental team on sustainability projects and strategies.Managing relationships with suppliers and service partners, such as contractors.ExperienceA minimum of 2 years of experience in an Environmental role.A third-level qualification in Environmental Management or a relevant discipline.A full, clean driving license.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment would be advantageous.For more information, please call Stephen Lehane on 021466 5480 or email ******.
