The Role: Financial Accountant

First Citizen Finance DAC is an independent finance company operating in the Auto, Agri, CRE and SME asset finance sectors in Ireland. The group employs c.90 staff through the Republic of Ireland and is headquartered in Dublin 1 with satellite offices in Cork and Kilkenny. The company continues to grow and expand into new market segments and has recently completed its 4th public securitisation of its Auto Loan Portfolio. This is an opportunity for an experienced and ambitious financial accountant to join a growing organisation in the financial services sector. This role reports to the Financial Controller and provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to lead and take ownership of key tasks within Finance.
The role:
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller and working in conjunction with the Finance Manager and the general finance team you will be responsible for:
• Accounting for Motor Finance, Agri and SME Equipment Finance and Commercial Real Estate Divisions
• Debtors management – review of client service fees calculations and related invoices
• Contributing to the management reporting and statutory accounting work streams including the Group Consolidation file
• Variance analysis as part of monthly and quarterly reporting.
• Cash flow and P&L forecasting
• Calculation and preparation of VAT and corporation tax returns
• Review, analysis and interpretation of legal documents to ensure correct processing of financial transactions
• Review of Servicer and Cash Manager reports for various SPVs
• Managing relationships with Corporate Service Providers to ensure alignment between Group and SPVs from an accounting perspective
• Providing sign-off on process controls during the month end process
• Systems accounting in respect of HP and lease databases – learn, document and automate processes
Experience Required:
• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 1 to 3 years PQE
• Understanding of securitisations and SPVs would be an advantage.
• Excellent time management and planning skills so that work is prioritized and strict deadlines met even when faced with outside distractions
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel with an eye for challenging existing processes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and the capacity to work on own initiative
• Customer Focused (Internal and external)

• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Ability to motivate others
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
