Financial Controller

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our client, a leading Speciality Insurance firm with a significant presence in Dublin.
This key role will report directly to the Head of Financial Control and be responsible for managing the accounting ledgers for multiple syndicates and a direct re/insurance company.
The position involves working closely with the finance function to prepare accurate financial statements, manage a team of accountants, and drive continuous improvements within finance processes.
Key Responsibilities:Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the accounting ledgers.Oversee monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate updates.Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and forecasts.Implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and enhance reporting quality.Conduct a robust balance sheet review to resolve issues promptly.Develop and document business processes to strengthen internal controls.Manage relationships with internal and external auditors.Prepare audit papers and oversee the annual financial statement preparation.Collaborate with group and regulatory reporting teams for group consolidation and compliance.Research technical accounting issues to ensure ledger/reporting compliance.Liaise with underwriters, actuaries, auditors, and senior management.Contribute to the ongoing development of the finance system, improving finance processes.Assess financial impacts of business changes as the company continues to grow.Take on additional projects as required.The Successful Candidate Will:Have experience in technical accounting, preferably in non-life insurance or Lloyd's accounting (not essential).Be familiar with multi-currency ledgers.Have experience operating within a complex data and systems control environment.Be self-motivated, flexible, and proactive.Be enthusiastic about continuous improvement and efficiency.Be professional, diplomatic, and capable of interacting with senior management and external parties.If you would like to be considered for the role, please click the apply button below.
