They are seeking a dedicated Forecast Demander to enhance their forecasting processes, drive high service levels, and ensure alignment between customer demand and production capabilities.
Purpose of the Role: The Forecast Demander will be responsible for developing and refining accurate weekly and monthly sales forecasts.
This role will involve close collaboration with sales, ERP, production, and procurement teams to gather insights, improve forecasting accuracy, and ensure smooth operations.
The position will help inform strategic decisions and improve communication across departments.
Key Responsibilities: Weekly and Monthly Forecasting: Develop accurate short-term and medium-term sales forecasts for key retailers.
Help determine optimal inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing holding costs.
Guide production schedules to ensure adequate supply to meet forecasted demand.
Provide data for budgeting and financial forecasting.
Inform strategic decisions related to promotions, new product launches, and overall business strategy.
Forecast Accuracy Improvement: Continuously analyze historical data, identify trends, and adjust forecasting models.
Experiment with various forecasting methods (e.g., moving averages, and regression analysis) to improve accuracy.
Customer Forecast Alignment: Monitor customer forecasts and collaborate with the sales team to resolve discrepancies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, production, and procurement teams to ensure smooth operations and accurate demand forecasting.
Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on forecast accuracy, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions.
S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning): Support the monthly S&OP process by providing accurate forecasts and analyzing performance metrics.
Required Qualifications: Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and interpret data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
Experience with forecasting and data analysis tools.
Good understanding of accounting principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proactive problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of the food manufacturing industry (Essential).
