Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Step Down Facility Position Title: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Location: Step Down Facility, Nenagh About Us: Our clients Step Down Facility in Nenagh is committed to providing exceptional care and support to patients transitioning from acute care to home or long-term care settings.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our clients leadership team.
The ADON will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of outstanding patient care, supporting the nursing staff, and assisting the Director of Nursing in managing the overall operations of the facility.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall management of the Step Down Facility.
Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
Support and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development and a positive work environment.
Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance patient care quality.
Monitor patient care outcomes and work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement quality improvement initiatives.
Coordinate patient care plans, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.
Manage staff schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and identify training and development needs.
Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new nursing staff.
Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and excellence in patient care.
Handle administrative duties, including reporting, budgeting, and resource management.
Qualifications and Experience: Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Minimum of 7 years of post-registration nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Previous experience in a step down facility, rehabilitation, or similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Excellent clinical skills and a thorough understanding of patient care practices.
Outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
