Our manufacturing client in Killarney is seeking a Planning Team Lead to join their team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and managing a team of 2, as the Planning Team Lead, you will be responsible for the sales, inventory and operational planning requirements to meet customer demand dates.
You will have worked as a Planner in a fast paced, made to order high volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities will include: Develop the Sales, inventory, and Operational planning requirements to meet customer demand dates whilst establishing level flow through operations executions by understanding capacity constraints and driving actions / solutions.
Identify and drive strategies and processes within the team around material availability to satisfy manufacturing and customer requirements.
Lead sales order review meetings to review planning and maintaining customer on time delivery.
Develop a weekly Master Production Schedule, production planning reports and shipping requirements.
Anticipate subcontracting needs where a subcontract supply base is in existence, to manage capacity constraints.
Understands pricing agreements with a subcontractor supply base.
Schedule customer orders in line with material availability and production line manned capacity and work to customer requests.
Materials management to ensure materials and spares are planned accurately, directly placing purchase orders and call offs from suppliers against supplier agreements.
Ensure raw materials are in place for production on time and resolves bottlenecks in supply to achieve on time delivery.
Manage the incoming flow of raw materials, monitoring incoming deliveries, inventory issues, material shortages to minimise the impact on production.
Work closely with production operations line leads, supervisors and management to develop and communicate production plans that ensure customer commitments are recognised.
Deal with freight and duty invoices.
Develop and maintain necessary records and documentation in compliance with ISO system requirements.

Candidate Education and Experience: Experience of production planning in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably make to order, or previous manufacturing operations experience.
Qualified to certificate/diploma/degree level in a business or technical discipline or an appropriate combination of qualifications and work experience.
Supervisory experience or experience of leading small group projects or activities is desirable.
Experience of lean manufacturing philosophies and practices.
Advanced user experience of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
