Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland's largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment and Renewables. FT provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.
FT is looking to recruit a GIS Analyst to join our Energy & Planning team in either our Cork, Carlow or Dublin Offices. The role will suit candidates with a minimum of 15+ years of experience. The successful candidate will join an established company and will have the opportunity to broaden their existing range of skills and experiences. This position offers exposure to a number of project types within the company, including large waste management infrastructure development, public realm, urban development and renewable energy projects. FT offers the successful candidate a clear path for career development to Director positions.
FT's ResponsibilitiesPrepare and present drawings, figures and metrics, using GIS software in response to requests from across the businessPrepare proposals and costings of workPerform spatial analysisCreate automatic processes to integrate data into a GIS database and perform assessmentsDevelop workflow processes and documentationProduce 2D and 3D models to share GIS and CAD data into web and mobile applicationsUse initiative and knowledge to support the GIS team and grow expertise in the use of GIS software and other toolsContribute to the preparation and writing of technical reports and other documentation as requiredLiaise with clients on a regular basis, understand client requirements and provide appropriate solutions while developing and managing healthy client relationshipsAttend onsite meetings with the client and other professionals as required, maintaining the reputation of FT at all timesEnsure project compliance with all relevant standards, i.e. ISO, standard approaches, etc.Ensure compliance with FT company policies and procedures, and relevant Health and Safety legislationEnsure assigned project tasks are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the client and as outlined by the Project OwnerCommunicate and collaborate effectively with all team membersDisplay efficient work methods, using own initiative and working as part of a teamUse own initiative to try to resolve problems and ask questions of other team members to allow completion of tasksObtain information required to do the job by asking questions of other team members, Project Owners or Line ManagerWell-motivated and able to work to tight deadlinesAbility to organise own workload and be able to work autonomouslyHave all work checked and approved, and participate in project review/progress meetingsCommunicate any issues impacting work completion to Line Manager. Take initiative to identify obstacles to progress.Provide more junior team members help and adviceIdentify and drive continuous improvement in process, technology, knowledge base, etc.Skills / QualificationsHold a suitable Level 8 or Level 9 degree – GIS/Geography/Geology, with advanced knowledge in GIS softwareExperience in ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS for Desktop/ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGISData interoperability or FMEArcGIS collector/Survey 123 App/Field MapsExperience with ArcGIS extensions such as Spatial Analyst, Insights and DashboardsKnowledge of BIM, SQL or Python would be advantageous however is not essentialFull driving licence requiredMinimum 5 years of postgraduate work experienceStrong working knowledge of GIS and data management for infrastructure projectsExperience working in Consulting Engineering or related areaExperience working and coordinating with technical specialists and engineersGood experience organising and developing complex tasks involving multiple parties within a short timeframeExcellent communication (both verbal and written), analytical and organisation skillsExcellent attention to detailEfficient work methods, functioning both as part of team and on own initiativeAbility to adopt and work to new procedures and systems quicklyPrepared to travel to site visits and client meetingsAbility and willingness to understand and follow instructionsAn attractive package will be offered to the successful candidate including shorter working Friday, medical benefit and professional body support.
