Location:DMI is located in the National Technology Park, Limerick, Ireland.
This position operates on a flexible working model, allowing employees to work fully on-site at DMI HQ or in a hybrid approach, with partial remote work.
Role Overview:In this role, you will join the Data and Digital Technology team to support DMI and its clients in building and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure for data collection and analysis across industrial IoT devices and data sources.
As a Cloud/IoT Software Engineer, you'll explore innovative cloud solutions and collaborate with the Centre of Excellence (CoE) teams to support the delivery of scalable, high-performance systems that advance DMI's mission to drive data-centric manufacturing.
Main Responsibilities:Communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences with the appropriate level of detail.Maintain a strong understanding of the latest trends in cloud computing and IoT for industrial applications.Support in developing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and IoT connectivity that meets client needs and scales with their data demands.Bring innovative cloud and IoT solutions to life across various manufacturing domains.Collaborate with external partners, software vendors, universities, and internal teams to develop advanced IoT and cloud technologies.Contribute to Ireland's manufacturing base with world-class cloud and IoT systems that improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.Key Skills and Competencies:Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science or a related field.Experience Required: Knowledge of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and IoT protocols.Familiarity with data collection, processing, and storage within cloud environments.An understanding of IoT device management and connectivity within industrial environments.Experience with technical documentation, including specifications and reports.The Following Experience Would Be an Advantage: Familiarity with data visualization tools and APIs for reporting.Experience working in regulated or industrial production environments.REACT front-end exposure would be beneficial.An understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts and digital manufacturing trends.
