First and foremost, this is a customer support role in the Cloud.On a typical day, a support engineer will be primarily responsible for solving customer's cases through customer contact channels (e.g., telephone, email, and web/live chat).You will apply troubleshooting techniques to provide solutions for our customers by thoughtfully working with customers to dive deep into the root cause of an issue.An AWS support engineer may also develop and train, partner with development teams on complex issues or contact deflection initiatives, participate in new hiring, write tools/scripts to help the team, or work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives.We promote advancement opportunities across the organization to help you meet your career goals.We have training programs to help you develop the skills required to be successful in your role. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Currently enrolled in your final year, to receive a Bachelor's / Master's / PhD in Tech OR have graduated within 12 months of application date.Basic knowledge of at least one functional scripting language (e.g., Perl, Python, Ruby, shell scripting).Basic knowledge of Networking and Databases.Basic knowledge of Operating Systems: Windows and/or Linux. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of internet fundamentals and cloud computing concepts.Familiarity with Database, Storage, & Big Data concepts.Knowledge of Networking fundamentals like CIDR notations, OSI model, DNS, HTTP, TCP/UDP, DHCP, routing, switching, subnets, NAT.Comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment.Customer-facing work experience.
