The roleThis is a newly created role that will be responsible for our Group Health & Safety function.The successful individual will be responsible for embedding group values, attitudes, perceptions, competencies, and patterns of behaviour that will contribute to us creating a best-in-class health and Safety function across our facilities globally.
You will play a critical role in safeguarding the well-being of our employees, clients, contractors, and communities while upholding our commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.Key OutcomesDevelop and implement a health and safety framework in the workplace according to statutory guidelines based on each geographical locationLead a team that will execute a global health & safety strategy that you will have built which is tailored to align with the organisational objectives and regulatory requirementsProvide strategic guidance and leadership to health & safety teams across each facility, ensuring consistency and adherence to global and Uniphar standardsChampion the selection, implementation and roll out of a new Global Health & Safety platform that results in a safer environment for our employees as well as real time global reporting platform.Design and implement robust health & safety policies, procedures, and programs whilst considering the diverse nature of projects and regional regulationsContinuously review and update policies to reflect emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry best practicesDevelop and implement a comprehensive risk assessment program across project sites, identifying potential non-compliance actions, hazards and implementing effective control measures to mitigate risksEstablish protocols for incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action, promoting a proactive approach to risk managementStay abreast of global health & safety regulations, codes, and standards relevant to the pharmaceutical sector, ensuring full compliance across all operationsFoster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, empowering employees to actively participate in safety initiatives and contribute to a safe work environmentEstablish KPI's and metrics to track the effectiveness of health & safety initiatives, benchmarking performance against industry standards and internal targetsCultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, project teams, clients and contractors to foster collaboration and promote a shared commitment to safety excellenceKey Skills & ExperiencesYou will be a dynamic leader in your field of expertise with 7+ years of experience regulated Industry Experience working in a highly regulated environment and an understating of GDP, GMP and European quality standards would be importantThe successful candidate should have the knowledge, experience, and leadership style to grow the team through coaching, strategy build and execution to ensure right first-time operationAn ability and willingness to work cross functionally, focusing on meeting, and tracking to schedules and embracing an interdependent/flexible work cultureProven track record of executive leadership and management experienceA passion for Health & Safety with the ability to apply strategic thinking to resolves issues.Excellent communication and negotiation skills; the ability to build strong relationships with different levels of stakeholdersA natural collaborator, with a strong ethics that puts the wellbeing of our colleagues at the heart of decision makingCultural sensitivity and a global mindset, with experience working in multiple markets in a variety of challenging rolesA willingness to travel across the Global site network to understand the business and build relationshipsYour qualifications, experience and background are important to us, but we also care about cultural fit.
