To support the growth strategy, we are looking to appoint a Head of Finance to partner with the Ireland MD and the Ireland GMs (and support the overarching Head of Finance and CFO for UK and Ireland) - to influence the commercial operations of the business.
KEY OBJECTIVES / TASKS: BUSINESS PARTNER THE CEO FOR EUROPE:
The role will partner with the MD and GMs to drive growth, efficiencies, and profit through the business.
It will involve using the data we generate from sales and costs to analyse the business to identify opportunities and risks and help the GMs to deliver them.
This will also involve speaking with and negotiating with clients.
GROWTH:
Assess new business opportunities and review bids presented by the Chief Growth Officer to enable the business to grow successfully.
There are also likely to be M&A targets to review with the Group M&A team.
FINANCIAL REPORTING & CONTROL:
Oversee and manage the month-end financial reporting processes, annual budgeting cycle, and rolling forecasting processes.
Also manage and oversee event day forecasts, post-event reporting/P&Ls, and working capital.
Manage and control all elements of finance, including liaising with auditors in producing statutory accounts for Ireland.
SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT & INTEGRATION:
A range of new systems have already been implemented in Ireland.
There will be a degree of ongoing systems planning and implementation needed as part of the role.

Know the detail but then be able to lift oneself to the strategic level quickly.
Be data numerate and comfortable working with data to make data-driven decisions – we have moved to data warehouses and dashboards as the way to drive the business.
Understand the core drivers/issues and present in a way that is succinct and appropriate for the audience.
Ability to see the bigger picture amongst the noise.
Being able to explain the 'so what' that leads from analysis, results & proposals.
Accountability & resilience:
Fast-paced environment - able to make decisions quickly.
There are a lot of competing requirements – need to be able to balance time and achieve tight deadlines.
Commercially astute and quick to work through the many deadlines required back-to-back throughout the year.
Attention to detail - ensuring the results and analysis presented are accurate and meaningful.
Relationship building:
Able to build relationships with senior stakeholders (MD, CEO, COO, CFO, etc.)
in the right way to be able to engage, interact, and challenge in a way that gets the right outcome for the business.
Leadership:
Be confident in challenging the 'norm' - we are in a constantly changing world and business.
Head up projects for Ireland independently and see them through to completion.
Ability to manage and lead a team of people to ensure the sector teams see you as a leader of the business and respect your decisions but feel comfortable coming to you for advice.
Previous experience:
Experience in the hospitality sector (or similar) preferable.
