As the Head of Finance, you will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial management and governance of the organisation.
Your primary function will be to provide financial guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimise financial performance.
Additionally, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's overall financial strategy and fostering a culture of financial transparency, accountability, and integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities: Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategy in alignment with overall objectives.Provide strategic financial leadership on decision-making issues.Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial goals and objectives.Provide regular financial forecasts and variance analyses to support decision-making.Identify potential financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.Develop and maintain a robust internal control framework.Cash Management: Manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring optimal utilisation of funds.Implement effective treasury management practices.Conduct financial modelling and analysis to support strategic initiatives, investments, and business development opportunities.Tax Compliance: Oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting.Stay informed about changes in Irish tax laws and regulations.Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with external partners, financial institutions, and stakeholders to optimise financial relationships and support business objectives.Mentor finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.Recruit, train, and develop finance staff as necessary.Fundraising and Grants: Manage the multiple income fundraising sources including the HSE, private and corporate.Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree in finance or accounting preferred.3 years progressive financial leadership experience.Proven track record of success in senior financial leadership roles, preferably in a comparable not for profit organisation.Strong grasp of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams and driving results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Experience with ERP systems and financial software.Skills and Abilities: Excellent financial acumen and analytical skills.Strong leadership skills, empowering the finance team to deliver results.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Experience with stakeholder relationships including tax advisors and auditors.Confident with corporate governance principles.Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and in a high-pressure environment.Commitment to ethical conduct, integrity, and professional standards of excellence.
