Health And Safety Officer - North Dublin

The Health & Safety Officer will be responsible for managing all HSE matters across Ireland.
The focus will be to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, in addition to developing the company's health and safety management system.
Ideal from someone coming from an EHS/Quality Position in food manufacturing, production or logistics.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES * Reduce risk, losses, and exposure to the company by implementing Safety Management System (dSMS), standards and processes aligned to industry best practices and local regulatory requirements.
* Communicate HSE policies, standards procedures, and practices to colleagues and key stakeholders.
* Carry out workplace safety audits and ensure that any remedial recommendations are implemented.
* Ensuring HSE training is embedded into training plans, organising, and delivering of training courses for colleagues.
* Ensure all key colleagues are trained on dSMS and on incident reporting and investigation.
* Investigate or arrange for all accidents and near misses to be investigated, prepare and report findings including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement approved course of action.
* Providing technical expertise, advice, support, and direction to the businesses on all matters related to Occupational Health & Safety, Environment, and Incident Management.
* Reviewing and updating local internal health and safety policy and procedures in line with company best practice.
* Establish and oversee Occupational Health for the business.
* Identifying potential hazards and developing mitigation strategies.
* Carry out risk assessments as necessary for all areas of the business under current Health & Safety legislation.
* Ensure colleague awareness of and compliance to all HSE issues.
* Conduct and maintain compliance to training for all colleagues.
* Develop emergency response plans that address potential emergency situations.
IDEAL CANDIDATE * 5+ years in a Safety role, ideally in a warehouse/logistics or manufacturing environment.
* Degree in Health & Safety Management or related fields.
* Knowledge of the food manufacturing or food safety industry is desirable.
* The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
