Job role: Health & Safety - Mid-Senior Level – Waterford
Our client, one of the main building contractors in Ireland, is looking for mid to senior level H&S professionals to join their ever-growing company.
This company works across all sectors within the construction industry such as retail, fit outs, industrial, residential, etc.
They are looking for H&S professionals who will help keep the health and safety of their sites up to standard. They classify H&S as a main priority within their working environment.
Day-to-day responsibilities: Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees.Keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers.Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers.Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to.Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation.Skills and qualifications: Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred).1+ years in a similar role.Previous construction experience.Must work well as a team and be able to collaborate with others.This is an excellent opportunity for somebody that wants to further their career in health and safety with great career progression opportunities.
