We have several long-standing clients providing repeat business and we have experienced significant growth in the past 5 years, we are looking to recruit a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality(HSEQ) Officer in the Greater Dublin Region.

The Role The HSEQ Officer role reporting to the HSEQ Manager will be based in our newly refurbished Ashbourne Office and will be required to cover work locations in the Greater Dublin Region.
The HSEQ Officer will be responsible for assisting the construction team and supporting the HSEQ Manager which includes strict management of all health, safety, environment and quality procedures and day to day support of the various projects in the region.
As a HSEQ professional you are required to have a good knowledge of the relevant legislation and understanding of civil engineering and utility operations including a good knowledge of underground electrical networks, this should underpin an understanding of the requirements and needs of our extremely successful business unit.
The role will require the candidate to ensure a safe and healthy work environment on all our construction and utility sites.
The duties of the HSEQ Officer will include: • Risk Management and Documentation: - Prepare comprehensive risk assessments and method statements for all onsite work activities.
- Review and approve risk assessments and method statements submitted by subcontractors.
- Ensure all relevant project documentation adheres to Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations.
• Promote a Positive Health and Safety Environment: - Champion a strong company culture that prioritises health, safety, and environmental well-being.
- Partner with the project team to establish safe work systems complying with all statutory obligations.
• Regulatory Compliance: - Guarantee adherence to local and national H&S regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Uphold client-specific HSA requirements during all project phases.
• Developing and Implementing Procedures: - Create and implement effective procedures and controls aligned with relevant HSA legislation and industry best practices.
• Site Management: - Coordinate critical aspects of the construction H&S program, encompassing project induction sessions, first aid facilities, worker welfare, and emergency protocols.
• Training and Awareness: - Lead the creation and delivery of safety training programs, workshops, and awareness sessions in collaboration with the site management team.
• Monitoring and Auditing: - Maintain an active health and safety monitoring system with regular audits and inspections of site conditions.
• Compliance and Improvement: - Oversee onsite and company-wide compliance with ISO9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Conduct HSEQ site visits to identify areas were improvement and potential non-conformances.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop and oversee the execution of action plans for enhancing health, safety, environmental and quality practices.
• Incident Management: - Contribute expertise to the process of identifying hazards and assessing risks associated with high-risk activities and processes.
- Support incident investigations, ensuring a thorough root cause analysis is conducted and corrective actions are implemented.
Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications • Excellent knowledge of HSEQ requirements.
• Recognised third level Health, Safety Qualification i.e., BSc in Health and Safety.
• Highly proficient with computers, IT systems and Microsoft Office.
• Organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence Safety performance.
• Understanding in Health & Safety Incident Investigation • Some knowledge of the electrical network including HV, MV and LV.
• Ability to communicate with peers both written and verbal.
• Willing to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good understanding of the civil engineering and utilities business.
• Minimum 5 year's experience in a similar role.
