The Royal Hospital Donnybrook is a HSE Section 38 Voluntary Hospital with 178 beds that provides Post-Acute, Stroke Rehabilitation, Neurorehabilitation and General Rehabilitation services, Day Hospital services, Respite and Residential Care services to adults.
Qualifications and experience Applicants must, as a minimum, on the closing date for receipt of completed applications: Hold a fully completed relevant health skills FETAC Level 5, QQI Level 5 qualification (no outstanding modules).
OR Hold an equivalent relevant healthcare qualification.
AND Have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the duties of the role.
Desirable Criteria: Experience in at least one of the following areas: Gerontology Rehabilitation Dementia Care Day Services Communication & Interpersonal Skills Speaks and writes clearly, fluently and effectively to both individuals and groups; communicates in a manner that will persuade, convince and influence others, in order to motivate, inspire or encourage them to follow a particular course of action.

The person holding this post is required to support the principle that the care of the patient comes first at all times and will approach their work with the flexibility and enthusiasm necessary to make this principle a reality for every patient to the greatest possible degree Maintain throughout the Hospital awareness of the primacy of the patient in relation to all hospital activities.
Performance management systems are part of role and you will be required to participate in the hospitals performance management programme.
Normal hours of work are 39 hours per week, worked as agreed with the Director of Nursing.
This is a 24/7 365 days a year post and ability to adapt and be flexible will be required.
Post holders are required to work various shifts covering days, nights, and weekends.
We do not operate night duty or day specific contracts.
