Cowper Care Centre DAC  is seeking applications for the role of Housekeeping/Laundry/Kitchen Assistant for its Nursing Home - Gascoigne House Nursing Home, Rathmines Dublin 6.
Job Purpose   To provide high quality housekeeping, laundry and kitchen services for the residents and staff of Gascoigne House.    Roles and Responsibilities Housekeeping Duties:         Detail washing/dusting - including all low and high reach areas including fixtures, fittings, walls and vents throughout the building and exterior if necessary.
        Floor Maintenance - including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, and buffing throughout the building.
    Bathrooms and wash facilities: - including toilets, hand basins, shower rooms, baths, tiles, sluice facilities and commodes.         Waste Removal - including waste from bedrooms, offices, general areas of the building both interior and exterior if necessary.
  Laundry Duties :          To work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness of linen, towels and our residents' personal clothing, and to ensure an adequate supply of these items at all times.
        Sort washing into relevant groups, where applicable, and process it through the washer, drier and iron.
        Ensure statutory health and safety standards in the laundry area.
Kitchen Duties :   Carry out assigned and delegated tasks under the supervision of the Chef and Service Manager         Assist in the operation of standard cooking equipment such as oven/hobs, boilers, steamers, toasters, choppers etc.
        Wash up with or without the aid of a dishwasher         General cleanliness of the kitchen in accordance with HACCP procedures.
Essential Qualifications/Experience Be able to work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness Must be of the caring nature, sympathetic to the needs of all the residents Strong English   Desirable Aptitudes & Experience FETAC level 5 in laundry/housekeeping skills desirable Knowledge of infection control measures   Rewards Attractive remuneration package Employer contribution to pension scheme with a death in service benefit Career advancement opportunities & educational assistance available Subsidised meals   Garda Vetting / Police Clearance will be required for the successful applicant.
