Your impact We seek a talented Estimator at Junior or Intermediate level with experience working on large scale industrial projects such as Pharmaceutical, Semi-conductor or Data Centre projects.
Experience with EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) projects is desirable.
The Estimator will form part of the Estimating team to deliver estimating functions across all projects within the business unit.
Applicants should be considered proficient at all aspects in the field of estimating and cost engineering.
Experience completing estimates from both a top-down and bottom-up methodology based on design information at feasibility, concept and basic design stages.
Experience in project controls and quantity surveying is desirable.
Accountability: A member of the Estimating Team, accountable to the Estimating Section head, ensuring that the estimating needs for the Projects are being satisfied.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include: Disseminate Operating Procedures for estimating activities and ensure implementationStandardise the estimating delivery of the projects, tools, templates, filing structures, so that a Jacobs Standard becomes the norm across the operationDevelop and implement estimate plans for projectsCompile project estimates in accordance with the approved estimate plans and standard operating proceduresComplete estimate risk analysis and contingency calculationsPresent and review estimates with project team and senior managementPresent and review estimates with clientsConsolidation of benchmark information in a centralised and traceable location to ensure that all project learnings are captured and incorporatedTake the lead in Value Engineering and Risk WorkshoppingSupport and propagate Capital Cost Trending across projectsSupport and propagate Jacobs Value-Plus programmeSupport and propagate Jacobs Sustainability-Plus programmeEnsure that systems are in place and effective, and that all estimating requirements of Project Management, and the Client are being satisfied.Strive to improve templates and processes for estimate delivery, leveraging the IT tools available such as Cost-x, Navisworks, excel and other tools to improve the productive delivery of the estimating function.Here's what you'll need: BSc or MSc in a recognised Industry field (Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering)Chartered Membership of Engineers Ireland, SCSI or equivalent is an advantageThis position requires extensive experience in cost engineering, quantity surveying or estimating fields.
