What You'll Do as an Internal AuditorIn your role, you'll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets.
Here's a flavour of your day-to-day:
Scope and deliver complex, agile audits from beginning to end, including execution/review of test work, exit meetings and final report.Identify gaps and improvement opportunities to design and deliver effective, efficient and where applicable automated processes that will enhance business outcomes, reduce risk and systemise the control environment.Provide independent assurance to management that all key risks are managed effectively through the evaluation of the quality of management processes, systems of internal control and corporate governance.Ensure Head of Internal Audit and Internal Audit Senior Manager are informed on a regular basis on the progress of the audit and relevant audit findings.Work as an effective team member during an audit by communicating relevant issues and requesting feedback.Assess risk and influence stakeholders on actions for remediation and improvement.Build trusted and effective relationships with relevant stakeholders within Primark and ABF.Support in the development of the annual audit plan and deliver a portfolio of risk-based, end-to-end audits.Prepare high quality written reports on relevant governance, risk management and control issues, communicate these to management, and agree appropriate action plans.Monitor management responses and the application of all recommendations.Support the Internal Audit Senior Manager and where necessary, lead the preparation of quarterly progress reports to Primark and ABF management.Conduct ad-hoc reviews or investigations as required.Record, track and monitor agreed actions from all meetings and work with the relevant stakeholders to ensure key milestones are achieved.Maintain expert knowledge of internal audit industry best practices, new technologies and advancements. Professional qualification (ACA / ACCA) required.Previous experience in external and/or internal audit is essential, ideally working in the Big 4 and/or industry.Experience of performing business process walkthroughs of complex areas/functions, identifying risks, and scoping associated controls.Proficient in applying a risk-based audit approach and testing expected internal controls.Excellent communication skills enabling effective engagement with a diverse stakeholder group both across the business and externally.Strong report-writing skills, with ability to focus on high-level summary for senior executives.Curious, self-starter, with ability to adapt to change and multi-task.Excellent planning and organisation skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise work schedule for self and team.Collaborative team player demonstrating high levels of emotional intelligence.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability.Commercial mindset, organising workload with emerging risk at the forefront.Sound judgement and unquestionable ethics with high degree of transparency and trust.
