Position OverviewThe Inventory & Planning Supervisor oversees and optimizes inventory and planning processes to ensure the timely availability of materials and products while reducing excess stock and costs.
This role collaborates closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to forecast demand, streamline inventory operations, and enhance supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities1.
Inventory ManagementManage inventory levels to ensure accurate stock across all locations.Conduct regular audits to reconcile physical stock with system records.Monitor stock rotation to minimize obsolete or expired items.Develop and enforce stock control policies to prevent overstocking or stockouts.2.
Operations Forecasting & PlanningWork with sales and production teams to understand demand trends and create accurate forecasts.Develop production and procurement plans aligned with demand projections.Adjust planning strategies to address demand fluctuations or supply chain disruptions.3.
Supply Chain CoordinationCollaborate with procurement, logistics, and production teams to align inventory levels with production schedules.Monitor supplier lead times and communicate inventory requirements to ensure timely material delivery.Resolve supply chain issues that impact inventory or production timelines.4.
Reporting & AnalysisGenerate reports on inventory performance, stock levels, and turnover rates.Analyze data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including stock accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and forecasting accuracy.5.
Continuous ImprovementIdentify and implement opportunities to improve inventory management and planning processes.Adopt best practices and optimize systems to improve inventory flow and minimize waste.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance supply chain efficiency.Required Skills & AbilitiesCertification in inventory management or planning (e.g., APICS CPIM or equivalent).3+ years of experience in inventory management, planning, or supply chain roles.Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite).Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.Familiarity with forecasting methods and inventory control systems.Experience with ERP systems and integrated supply chain software.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively across teams.Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
