The Role The role presents an exciting and challenging opportunity to a Senior Platform Engineer wwho wants to work in a dynamic workplace environment with a real opportunity to positively impact the delivery of strategic change programmes through best in class design thinking and practices.
You will be analysing complex environment issues and understanding technical opportunities in order to build solutions and provide technical and industry leadership knowledge
This is a superb opportunity for someone who wants to develop and enhance their skillset. You will be working within a high performing technical Delivery team, play a role in cross functional teams with a wide reach across AIB and fill a role that will offer experience across a variety of changes.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain a DevOps framework that promotes continuous integration, delivery, and deployment. Design, build, and manage configuration management systems required for efficient software development and deployment, including servers, certificates, networks, and monitoring tools. Collaborate with multiple vendors to solve complex environment and application issues. Develop and manage Ansible playbooks and roles for automating and application deployment for various environments. Provide governance and control of Production and staging environments. Create and maintain documentation, guidelines, and standard operating procedures to ensure proper knowledge transfer. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements, and implement tools and technologies to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and reduce manual efforts. Solid understanding of cloud-based architectures, services, and deployment models. Ideal candidate will have solid hands-on (coding) experience in modern, CI/CD practices/DevOps paradigms, Systems Engineering best practices and principles, administration of modern/distributed SCM systems. What you will Bring: Knowledge or experience with Development Tools: GIT, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc). Automated build and deployments using Jenkins, Ansible, Bitbucket, JIRA etc.. Strong working experience automating with Python, PowerShell, Bash, YAML, JSON, Ansible, or industry equivalent. Knowledge or experience in Docker Containers, Docker Management platforms like Kubernetes, is a plus. Working knowledge of networking and devices (Load Balancers, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP, VPNs, Firewalls, Proxies, DNS) Knowledge or experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Nagios etc. Knowledge or experience with secret management technologies such as Venafi, Vault, CyberArk. Knowledge or experience working with general Linux administration. As part of the interview process you will be expected to demonstrate the capabilities reflected below. Breadth of Technical Knowledge Effectively leverages broad knowledge of the technical disciplines within own area of expertise, as well as the organisation's policies, procedures, programmes and tools, to develop and implement solutions.
System and Technology Integration Possesses knowledge of features and facilities for integration, and communication among applications, databases and technology platforms to bring together different components and form a fully functional solution to a business problem.
Technical Knowledge Provides thought participation and direction while helping the leads, conducting the day-to-day work in a specific technical domain area; applies domain knowledge to develop solutions to problems.
Relationship Management Cultivates and maintains business relationships, partnerships and alliances internally, externally and virtually with key stakeholders.
Negotiation and Influence Engages in discussion to reach an agreement and create outcomes, affecting the action, behaviours, or opinions of others.
Develops Talent Develops people to meet both their career goals and the organization's goals
You may also be required to perform a quick peer coding test in java to assess your reasoning skills (max 30 mins).
