The HAWK University of Applied Sciences Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen is seeking to fill the following position in the Research and Transfer staff department at the Göttingen site at the earliest possible date, limited until March 31, 2027: Research Officer in the field of research data management with a focus on technical services (E 13 TV-L part-time with 29.85 hours/week) The HAWK coordinates two central projects that contribute to the further development of efficient research data management (RDM) in Lower Saxony.
Since the end of 2022, the "FDM-ndsHAW" project has been supporting Lower Saxony's universities of applied sciences (HAW) in setting up a comprehensive RDM system.
As part of this project, RDM skills are strengthened by central ambassadors and subject-specific methods and standards are identified and made available to researchers in a structured manner.
In addition, the expansion and establishment of RDM has been promoted since the beginning of 2024 as part of the state initiative "RDM NDS", with a special focus on open science and supra-regional cooperation.
The HAWK coordinates Pillar 2 of "FDM NDS" and closely integrates the "FDM-ndsHAW" project into the state initiative.
The projects thus contribute to professionalizing and increasing the effectiveness of RDM at universities of applied sciences and universities in Lower Saxony and promote networking.
The services are to be further expanded with the help of this office.
Your tasks Central development, preparation and provision of RDM know-how in various forms and formats in cooperation with other actors in "FDM NDS" for both multipliers and researchers at the research institutions in Lower Saxony Needs assessment, conception, evaluation, modification, coordination and implementation of existing and, if necessary, new development of central services, technical tools and services for the storage, publication, organization and documentation of digital research data, including the associated digital workflows Communication of technical service requirements, advice and training on tools and services Responsibility for the organization and implementation of training courses, workshops and other community-building events for the partner universities Development and maintenance of web services (website, wiki, online learning tools, etc.)
Participation in the support of the "data stewards" in the network universities Networking in Lower Saxony and throughout Germany Preparation of handouts and collection of best practices Your profile Completed scientific university degree (Master's/Diploma) or comparable qualification in a data-related field Enjoy working with research data and handling associated tools such as repositories or tools for creating data management plans Affinity for technical tools and services Enjoy advising and training people Strong service orientation, sense of responsibility and initiative Language skills in German and English that enable fluent oral and written communication in the workplace Confident handling of the MS Office programs Knowledge of FDM and data management an advantage Experience in dealing with content management systems desirable Experience in higher education, public administration, electronic administrative work and/or research desirable Organizational skills with a structured, proactive and independent way of working Team spirit and loyalty as well as assertiveness and communication skills in contact with different stakeholders Willingness for further education and training Willingness to travel, especially to network partners and events as well as within the HAWK locations The HAWK sees itself as a place where opportunities are made possible.
