Our client, a leading main contractor operating in Ireland and the UK, is recruiting for a H&S officer to be based full-time on their site in Dublin.
This company is looking for a H&S professional with main contractor experience to take on this exciting new role on a large-scale commercial job site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to take their place within an ever-growing company and implement a top-down approach to ensure that they operate in as safe an environment as possible.
As a H&S officer for this company, you will be reporting directly to the H&S manager and managing the safety for subcontractors, civil and ground works, tower crane operations, and mobile lifting operations while also dealing with general site H&S.
Day-to-day responsibilities: Manage emergency procedures, respond to health and safety-related complaints or issues; keep a focus on health and safety within the business.Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicate to all employees.Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.Keep records of incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers.Deliver Toolbox Talks and liaise with HSE, Fire Officers, and Environmental Health Officers.Conduct regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to.Make changes to working practices to make them safer and ensure they comply with current legislation.Ensure safe working procedures are implemented.Ensure that all accidents are reported, recorded, investigated, and appropriate actions are taken to ensure that they do not happen again.Skills and qualifications: 4-5+ years in a similar role.Must work well as a team and be able to collaborate with others.This is an excellent opportunity for somebody that wants to further their career in health and safety with great career progression opportunities.
