Junior Accountant – Financial Trading

How You Can Make an Impact Geneva Trading is seeking a motivated Part Qualified Junior Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team in Dublin.
In this role, you'll gain broad exposure to the financial operations of a fast-paced trading business.
The ideal candidate will have a solid academic background, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for identifying and implementing process improvements.
What You'll Do Financial Close Involvement: Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across our global operations.Trader P&L Management: Assist in preparing and managing trader P&L statements and provide timely responses to trader queries.Audit & Tax Support: Contribute to annual audit and tax reporting for non-US entities.Business Funding: Work alongside the financial accounting team to streamline and optimize business funding processes.Daily Reconciliations: Support T+1 daily trading income reconciliations and help report firm P&L to senior management.Collaborative Problem Solving: Work with the finance team to tackle business challenges and contribute to continuous process improvements.Trader Experience: Partner with shared services teams to enhance the overall trader experience.Ad-Hoc Projects: Lead or assist with special projects and process enhancements as required.What You'll Need to Bring Process Improvement Mindset: A proactive approach to challenging the status quo and delivering solutions that improve efficiency.Deadline-Driven: Ability to meet deadlines while ensuring high standards of accuracy and customer satisfaction.Adaptability: Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment.Academic Background: A BSc or MSc in Accounting, Business, or a related field, with a strong academic record and a commitment to completing your professional accounting qualification.
Relevant Experience: 2+ years of experience in financial services or fintech.Excel Expertise: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to streamline processes and reporting.What Will Make You Stand Out Regulatory and Statutory Reporting Experience: Familiarity with relevant regulatory reporting is a plus.Dashboard & Reporting Tools: Experience with tools like Qlik, Power BI, or Tableau for designing and testing reports.Accounting System Experience: Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting systems.Market Knowledge: Understanding of traditional financial markets and/or cryptocurrency is an advantage.Technical Skills: Knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases is a plus.Additional Benefits Geneva will support completion of your accounting studies and professional membership.
