Summary: The Junior Associate will support the Investment Risk function through risk reporting and oversight for regulated funds.
The role will predominantly center around risk reporting for ManCo clients, in particular the calculation of market risk analytics and monitoring of investment compliance limits.
A sound knowledge of fund regulations, and an understanding of the environment that funds operate in, is essential to the role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the Investment Risk function in Waystone Management Company by managing multiple deadlines and competing demands in time in order to meet deliverables and by communicating with the funds' depositaries and service providers as and when required.Participate in the onboarding of funds alongside a senior team member, including the review of fund's prospectus and analysis of the model portfolio to assist with producing a risk assessment prior to launch.Administer holdings and market data in proprietary software systems to produce risk reporting.Record and escalate breaches in line with procedure to ensure records are accurately maintained in company logs.
Communicate with the depositary, investment manager and ensure that the Relationship Management team is informed.Aspire to develop proficiency in interpreting and implementing various regulatory reporting requirements, such as AIFMD and UCITS, for a variety of fund strategies.Perform daily reconciliations on a range of data, fund accounting, compliance checks and risk analytics.Provide and continuously update documentation and backup of all operational processes.Follow and enhance existing procedures, to solve routine problems.Expand ownership of a set of funds in order to monitor risk exposure, handle client queries and develop expertise about particular investment strategies.Aspire to be proficient in problem solving and continuously strive to use own initiative to take ownership of the tasks allocated.Participate in on-job training for new hires.Co-operate with colleagues in different locations and time zones.Actively participate in projects and duties as assigned.Exhibit competency working with Bloomberg and Microsoft Office.
Python and VBA scripting to improve operational efficiency is encouraged but not essential.Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of proprietary software.
Review and query existing methods and processes with the objective of making the team more effective and efficient.Assist team supervisor with ad hoc client queries.Participate in supporting clients through risk reporting.

Experience and attributes:Knowledge of, and previous exposure to, UCITS and AIFs risk reporting is highly preferable.An interest in investment markets and a willingness to undergo further study or undertake a professional qualification will be well regarded.Accurate and detailed writing skills are beneficial.Experience and knowledge of the Irish Funds industry is beneficial.Education:A minimum of a 3rd level Degree in Finance, Business or similar field is required.
A Master's Degree in a Finance or Mathematical field or a related professional qualification would be desirable but is not a requirement.
