Job Description
An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory QC Data Analyst in the Data Analytics department in Blackrock. This role will be responsible for data processing and data quality control of genotyping data produced on a high-throughput genotyping system. The overall responsibility for this role will be to support the laboratory by processing the data it produces, as well as giving feedback pertaining to the quality of the data so corrective action can be taken in the event of issues impacting the data.
What you will do: Bring energy, knowledge and innovation to carry out the following tasks (including but not limited to):
Data processing and analysis of large volumes of genetic data.Review, release, and analysis of genetic and genomic test data.QC testing of genetic data following SOPs and the ISO17025 standard.Communicate progress and non-conformities to line management and laboratory as necessary.Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data, selecting corrective steps through feedback and communication with the laboratory.Prioritise workload to deliver on time results of highest quality.QC testing of new lab reagents (Cartesian plot inspection and concordance data analysis).Investigate Out of Specification (OOS) and Out of Trend (OOT) results as required.Import data to main database after QC checks.Complete quality and sample tracking records.Participate in educational opportunities, adding value to the role.Perform other technical duties as required as assigned by the Lead Data Scientist.What skills you will need: Entry level - All training required for the role will be provided.Third level qualification to degree level in bio-analytical science or similar.Excellent attention to detail and concentration.Ability to think logically and be proactive.Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative in a constructive manner.Familiarity with ISO quality systems.Good time management skills.Flexible and self-motivated.Employee Status: Regular
