We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as a Lecturer in Education (with Specialism in Digital literacy).
They should have a Doctorate in Education (or cognate area) or be nearing completion of their Doctorate.
The preferred candidate will be expected to:
Make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department.Undertake teaching duties on the Department's Initial Teacher Education programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.Contribute to Master's and Doctoral level modules and supervision.Conduct placement supervision.Develop student teachers' digital literacy and education technology skills to support their practice in classrooms and schools.Model and develop innovative practices in digital literacy for students and colleagues in the Department.Work collaboratively in supporting the collegial work of the Department and assume administrative and course leadership duties as required.The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile that supports the University's research strategy, including:
Affiliating to the Research Institutes, where appropriate.Working with colleagues on national and international research.Sustaining and conducting research, engaging in scholarship of quality and substance, and generating publications of international standard.Supervising research students up to doctoral level.The person appointed will have a record of teaching, research, and publication appropriate to their career stage.
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
