Role: Legal Counsel Location: Dublin 2/Hybrid Duration:13 months Salary:€72,511 Key Responsibilities: Legal Support: Assist and support the Senior Legal Counsel in managing a diverse legal caseload effectively.
Advisory Role: Provide high-quality, user-friendly legal and regulatory advice on various issues related to the organizations statutory functions.
Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts including collaboration agreements, research and development contracts, service level agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and EU contracts.
Grant and Procurement Review: Analyse grant agreements and procurement contracts as required.
Operational Legal Advice: Offer legal guidance on the organizations general functions, program schemes (both domestic and non-domestic), and handle complaints.
Risk Management: Identify legal and commercial risks while recommending strategies for mitigation that align with the organizations strategic objectives.
Data Protection Support: Provide advice to the Data Protection Officer and Information Compliance Office.
Litigation Assistance: Support litigation matters by briefing Counsel and instructing external advisors when necessary.
Essential Requirements: The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate: Legal Qualification: Must have been called to the Bar in the State and entered on the Roll of Practising Barristers maintained by the LSRA, or be currently enrolled as a solicitor in the State.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years' relevant post-qualification experience as a solicitor or barrister, or as in-house counsel.
Advisory Expertise: Experience advising on administrative and public law, regulatory law, commercial, or corporate law transactions.
Case Management: A proven track record of managing a diverse caseload and meeting deadlines.
Communication Skills: Proven experience in excellent report writing and maintaining high standards of general written and oral communication skills.
Language Proficiency: Oral and written fluency in the English language.
Desirable Requirements: Evidence of knowledge and understanding of public service organizations and the governance and regulatory framework within which they operate.
Knowledge of relevant Irish legislation and European Law.
Understanding of GDPR and privacy law.
