Title: Leisure Centre Supervisor Location: Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel RESPONSIBLE TO: Leisure Centre Manager Leisure Centre Assistant Manager Hotel Manager Managing Director RESPONSIBLE FOR: Leisure Centre Staff & Instructors LIAISON WITH: Departmental Managers Human Resources Manager SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: To promote, develop and run the Leisure Centre on a day-to-day basis by managing staff and operating facilities.
To be responsible for the health and safety of colleagues, customers and members, and to motivate the team to ensure the highest possible standards of service are achieved.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: GYM: To supervise all the centre staff on a day-to-day basis; To ensure that the equipment and facilities of the centre are maintained and are in good and safe working order.
This will involve liaising with contractors when necessary; To review and monitor the performance of the centre; To drive membership growth whilst ensuring renewals and direct debits are chased and up to date Preparing and implementing a varied program of activities and classes; Overseeing the maintenance of the Pool plant, pool, sauna and steam room; and ensuring the operation of same is up to standard To ensure that all staff training in relation to emergency response etc is refreshed when necessary To ensure all staff are trained in accordance with all legislation required by Leisure Centre Staff in relation to swimming pools and gym equipment To handle concerns and complaints from customers and members To document and ensure all new members complete an induction program, covering correct use of equipment and creating a tailor made program to suit their goals GENERAL To ensure a high standard of service and guest care; To recruit appropriate centre staff as necessary alongside HR Manager; Ensuring motivation and morale levels are high within the staff team; To report to the Leisure Centre Manager on all aspects of the centre on a regular basis To keep up to date with health, fitness and spa trends; To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Licensing and Employment, ensuring that members of the Team are trained and aware of these requirements.
