We are hiring an Estimator to join our client whos is Irelandsleading provider of engineering solutions with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services in the civil, mechanical, and electrical sectors.
They specialize in large-scale projects and have built a track record of success in the construction, energy, and industrial industries.
Salary: €50,000 - €70,000 DOE Key Responsibilities: Review and analyse project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for projects.
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to assess project costs and risks.
Source and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure all estimates align with the companys commercial objectives and industry standards.
Maintain a thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and market conditions to provide realistic and competitive pricing.
Attend pre-tender meetings and site visits to understand project requirements and constraints.
Prepare tender submissions and participate in the bid review process.
Provide cost advice and support throughout the project lifecycle, from inception through to completion.
Update and maintain estimating databases and records.
Track and report on project costs to ensure they align with initial estimates and identify any discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports for ongoing projects.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an Estimator, ideally within the construction, and electrical sectors.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Proficient in estimating software.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to produce detailed and accurate cost estimates.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
Knowledge of current construction costs, pricing trends, and material suppliers.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
