The Maintenance Assistant is an important position working closely with the Maintenance Manager & Accommodation Manager.
  About The Fleet The Fleet Hotel is a wonderful boutique style Hotel located in the centre of Dublin on the edge of Temple Bar.
It comprises of some beautiful period buildings including the iconic Bewleys Café, much loved by Dubliner's for decades.
The Fleet Hotel is synonymous with local Dublin history, before becoming the Fleet Hotel, 19/20 Fleet Street was home to Bewley's Café which was established by Ernest Bewley in 1905.
Bewleys were known to be one of the finest Tea Houses in Europe and a favourite with Dubliner's for generations.
Role Responsibilities The maintenance Assistant is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel, equipment therein and external grounds.
The Maintenance Assistant, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Operations Manager, will be responsible for ensuring these responsibilities are delivered on.
The work will broadly involve dealing with upkeep and general repairs including matters potentially relating to plumbing, tiling, decorating, grounds and heavy cleaning.
Reports to: Maintenance Manager & Operations Manager .
Prioritise and complete day to day repair tasks as reported.
Complete any standard daily, weekly or monthly checks as directed by management.
Work on any larger project items on a planned basis and as directed by the management team.
Work on any preventative maintenance programmes at the hotel.
Liaise with and facilitate the work of any external contractors that may be undertaking work at the hotel during your shift.
Ensure adherence to all relevant Health & Safety legislation with respect to any work that is being undertaken.
Be flexible in your approach to working hours and rosters.
You may be required to be on call and work during evenings and weekends depending on the demands of the business.
Deal with any guest queries in a polite and friendly manner.
Undertake any other maintenance related work as directed by management.
To abide by the Hotel policies at all times.
Attend training sessions, meetings as required.
To read, understand and carry out your responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
Other ad-hoc duties as requested by management which may involve carrying out duties in other departments depending on business requirements.
Check daily maintenance requirements and ensure all jobs are completed and signed off Ensure all systems are monitored and working correctly Monitor and action if necessary all plant equipment in the hotel To comply with all Health & Safety legislation, from correct use of PPE, to working safely at all tasks About The Role Requirements A proven track record in a similar role within a quality environment, and the ability to demonstrate excellent standards, while completing tasks to timelines.
Ability to repair and maintain all areas of the hotel, from painting, bathroom fixtures, skirting etc.
This Position is a full time role and will be rostered on a 5/7 day per week to include weekends and public holidays.
